How to use as intended:
To create new icons, hide and unhide different layer options.
Choose a border, a background, and any extras you like. Add your username and edit however you like!
 
Tips:
In Gimp, quickly change the color of a layer by going to Colors > Hue-Saturation!
In Photoshop, quickly change the color of a layer by going to Adjustments > Hue-Saturation!
