    KELLER ANIM

This is very lovely! However, I want to make a note that 99% of these apps state that if you use them for anything, it can only be for personal use. You can't use them to make animations for commissions or any type of commercial use (selling) as it's against their TOS. Please make sure you're in the clear before you attempt to sell anything.

  6. If you'd like to use the overlay I made, here is a .png version. It can easily be overlayed with your Pride overlays as I have done. @BrushYrTeeth sent this information to me and wanted it to be shared as well for those who want to help with limited resources. https://poguesgold.tumblr.com/post/619746026049421312/how-to-donate-to-blm-when-you-have-no-money
  7. This announcement comes with a heavy heart and an active mind. We want to thank @Taylor for allowing us to extend her platform's reach. There are protests happening not only in the United States, but around the entire world for the #BlackLivesMatter movement against the injustices the US government continues to push on minorities and people of color. We feel that it is our duty to use our platform in a way to bring awareness to this cause. Everyone deserves to be treated equally. We ask that everyone put aside their differences and opinions, regardless of political stance, and stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters who only ask to be able to live their lives in peace, not fear. Ways You Can Help Here is a website with links and information on how you can help in many different ways: https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/ Here is a post on Tumblr explaining how you can help with limited resources: Click You can also join in your local peaceful protests to take direct action. We ask that anyone going out to protest in their cities stay safe and continue to speak against those who seek to paint the movement in a negative light and diminish the cause with unnecessary violence and chaos. Some don't have the opportunity to have their voice heard, so make yours count. Art Haven Charity Shops We have members offering commissions in exchange for donations made towards the Black Lives Matter movement. Please check them out for more information if you're interested. For artists that want to do the same, tag your charity shops with BlackLivesMatter. https://arthaven.co/tags/blacklivesmatter/ An overlay is available in the next post if you'd like to add it to your current display picture.

Hello and welcome to Art Haven! Here are a few tips to help you set up a request to assist artists who may be interested in fulfilling your request: Provide details on what style of art you're interested in Give links to references and/or screenshots List a direct price you're willing to pay, don't use price ranges with large gaps Please do not ask members to go off-site in order to contact you about a public request as stated in our community guidelines. You have an inbox you can use for private communications here to make things easier. Good luck!
  16. You can't ask your commissioners to pay your PayPal fees, send as "friends or family", or add a surcharge to cover the extra cost of the fees. You are providing a service (a commission) for a good (the art itself). It doesn't matter if it's a physical good, or in this case a digital good. Per PayPal's policy, you are required to pay the seller fees out of your own pocket. These fees exist as your contribution to PayPal to continue providing a low cost service. If you feel you are being underpaid, you should re-evaluate the worth of your art and charge more overall, regardless of if payment is sent through PayPal. It is not a legitimate exception to void the payment processor's User Agreement that you accept when you create an account. https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ua/useragreement-full#accepting-payments The snippet from the User Agreement under "Accepting Payments From Buyers for Goods and Services" Violating PayPal's TOS can result in certain payment options being blocked, your account being terminated, and a fine of up to $2,000. If you disagree with PayPal's TOS, that's your prerogative, but you will not be able to sell your art via PayPal on Art Haven if you continue to request buyers send you extra money or send as "friends or family" to avoid your fee responsibilities. We don't allow the excuse "other people do it" to condone breaking rules and laws. If other artists are forcing buyers to pay the fees or send as Friends or Family, they're breaking the rules, too. You are more than welcome to give your feedback to PayPal directly by going to this link: https://www.paypal.com/us/smarthelp/contact-us, we have no control over their policies and can't make changes or exceptions on their behalf.
  17. If you see a dotted line underneath a word, you can hover over it to get a description.
  18. I think you're confused about my reply. I didn't say you were, that was clarification for others who may read that and think they can take back their copyright after giving it away re: artists can make up their own rules. It's true, with limitations. You're repeating the same examples I've used which I agree with. If you know you aren't giving up your copyright, then we share the exact same understanding on how they work. My decision to not allow the resell of any art I've made for people is for personal reasons, not because I think it makes me lose my copyright to it. Sorry for so many edits, it's very early in the morning for me.
  19. Within the legality of the law, of course. If you give your buyer the copyright, you no longer have the right to make up your own rules for the piece they own. Again though, there is nothing wrong with this opinion... as long as it stays an opinion and isn't pushed as a fact that excuses the mistreatment of artists, or suppresses the rights artists have to tell a buyer no, they can't resell or trade their art.
  20. I'm late to the recent additions, but I want to point out that disagreeing with someone and/or asking them to explain/clarify any claims or misunderstandings is not an attack on them, it is to hold them accountable to their argument. If their argument was not presented properly, they have a chance to correct us as they see fit. This is a discussion, so anything you post here is going to be dissected for a response to be made, regardless of what opinions or views you have. This kind of tu quoque debating style is why it's hard to have serious and important discussions due to the lack of an opposing party being able to engage with criticism. These "let's talk" chats with the community are few and far between because there are too many fallacies committed to validate anything that's said, leading to people feeling like they are being unheard, misunderstood, or misrepresented. tl;dr - It is not an attack when people disagree with your argument. Now, I quoted verbatim what Cupsu said in both of her statements and asked her to clarify what she meant, because I still hold firm that she indeed meant what she said, and that she thinks the artist is committing a selfish act/is selfish themselves for not wanting to sacrifice their legally owned copyright for the sake of a customer who wants their money back in the future when they get tired of their commitment to the purchase. Edit: I also want to add that just because you do know of artists who allow reselling and don't really care about their intellectual property does not mean it has to be the same for everyone else. An artist who refuses reselling is not doing anything wrong and will ultimately have more security in the future should an issue arise. If you can prove that you have a steady history of enforcing and protecting your copyrights, you will have the upper hand in any infringement case. If you have a history of forfeiting your copyrights to allow your art to be resold by a third party (i.e. a previous customer who no longer wants something they purchased from you), you will have almost nothing to protect you in an instance where a resell or trade happened that you did not approve. In layman's terms, if you forfeit your copyrights enough, you can potentially lose your intellectual property. This makes any claim you or a buyer has to it ultimately worthless, giving every Jack and Jill the right to take it and use it as they see fit. This issue is not black and white and the consequences are not linear. This is why I have mad respect for any lawyers in this field because holy hell is it an absolute nightmare.
  21. This is directly quoted from your post stating resells/trades should be a normal thing. If this isn’t the context you meant, could you please clarify? Because in a later post, you repeated yourself again by declaring you still think artists who don’t allow resells/trades are selfish. If this wasn’t your intention, I’m not sure why you didn’t correct the context when I was disagreeing with it the same way other artists are?
