EESI is a US centered organization that focuses on addressing climate change and advancing 'innovative policy solutions that set us on a cleaner, more secure and sustainable energy path'.
They view climate change as one of society's most serious environmental problems and believe that:
- clean, efficient energy,
- changes in agriculture,
- forestry and land use management,
- sustainable buildings,
- and improving both transportation and communities as a whole
can reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that impact our environment. They approach this through policymaker and stakeholder education, coalition building, policy development, and technical assistance to utility-based energy efficiency programs.
Keep a look out for more posts detailing the charities included in our Summer Charity Auction, as all proceeds will go to this and the other five charities on our roster!
