ART HAVEN'S ADVERTISEMENT MARKET
Welcome to Art Haven's dedicated topic for artists who do not currently have a topic to maintain, but still wish to advertise their commissions! Before you get started, we have a few important rules for your review.
RULES
- You are not allowed to post an advertisement if you already have a topic in the Custom Artwork forum. This includes topics that are currently under review for moderator approval.
- You cannot post an advertisement more than once per 24 hours.
- You are not allowed to post any off-site advertisements. This is to protect both parties in the event of a breakdown of communication or potentially unsafe/harmful links from appearing on the site.
- All transactions must be completed on-site. This means that should you start a commission on Art Haven, it must be completed on Art Haven. Potential buyers should be able to contact you and receive updates via Art Haven's private messaging system.
- Use the form provided when posting an advertisement. This is to help highlight important information for potential buyers.
- For members browsing the advertisements: do not reply to a post within this topic to express your interest. You must utilize the private messaging system to contact an artist. This helps keep the topic clean and organized.

What Locking Does:

What Deleting Does:

Information & Guidelines for Artists The general rules of the AH still apply that means you are only allowed to post art made by yourself.

These are only a few examples of rules that the artist may add. Certain types of art may require different rules. For example providing a free background makes only sense if the person may use it to create something else, however you can limit the way the person can use it. (No editing of the background itself, personal use only etc.)
We encourage the artist to watermark their work if they want to make sure they are credited for the piece of art they provide. Of course it is your choice if and how you do this however we would suggest that if you add a watermark to make it as simple/small as possible in relation to the size of the art.Information & Guidelines for Users Please consider that the artists are willing to give you art for free so the only right thing to do is give them back the credit they deserve. If they art has a watermark further credit is not needed but welcome. Especially when it comes to DP Art it is pretty easy just to add into your profile who made it.

Always check the artists' rules! Hopefully all that information will be included in their post. If it's not, send them a friendly PM!
Is it possible to sell these in a shop, group, another forum or website?
Definitely not. This thread is purely a privilege, not a right. If rules are broken, we'll have to shut this thread down.

✎Quick Guide to Partner Searching
So, you're looking to open up a shop, but don't want to strike out on your own? Perhaps you're new to the AH, and don't know enough people to start a partner shop -- opening up a partner search thread may be just what you need to get your legs under you.
✎ Questions to Ask Before you open up your thread, work out for yourself what you wish to accomplish. Here's a list of questions which might help you get started:
1. What kind of shop are you looking to open? Is it a partner shop, a collaboration, or both? 2. How many partners are you looking for? 3. What kind of skill level do you expect a potential partner to have? 4. How do you prefer to get in contact with your partner? 5. When will you be selecting a partner?That's obviously just a start -- you know best what you're looking for. The thing to remember is to let your applicants know!
Once you've decided who and what you're looking for in a potential partner, it's a good idea to decide how applicants may apply.
Do you want them to fill out a form? Just post some examples?
An application form is a great way to maybe get to know a few things about your applicants. It's also a great idea to fill the form out yourself, so that your applicants can get to know you! To create an effective form all you really need to do is compile the information you've already decided you need to know, and voila. The rest is up to your applicants!

What's the best way for us to share files?There are many other options that are important to consider when opening a shop with one or more people. It might be worth scooting your way through the partnerships that are already set up in the art forums, just to get an idea of how they work.
Do you want to set up a shop with a theme? Who's going to put together your graphics? Work through these things before you get set up, so that everyone's aware of the level of commitment and involvement you're expecting.
✎ Extra Information Finally, be respectful of one another. If your partner's busy with RL things and can't be around as much as you'd like, don't get upset with them. Similarly, if you know you're going to be too busy to keep track of your shop, let your partner know beforehand. As always, if you have any issues with customers, or ever with each other, try to deal with it privately, and if something gets out of hand please feel free to contact a moderator, and we'll do our best to work out a solution.

Requirements Must have at least ONE active shop on ArtHaven
Unfortunately, we will not be advertising people who sell art offsite because that kind of defeats the purpose of this feature. Thus, you must have an active shop on the website.
Free and practice topics count as an active shop. Selling art only in the premade market will not count.Must be semi-active
If you rarely use the website, there is no need to be featured. Inactive users who get chosen, slow the process up. If you're not active for a month, you'll be removed from the list. When you are active again, you may ask to be re-added to the list.
You must have minimum 50 posts.
Must have no active warningsThis means Official warnings that have not dropped off yet.
You can still be featured with friendly reminders as you still have no points deducted.
Must have been a member of ArtHaven for at least a monthThis is to allow the list to be a bit smaller and prevents some degree of scamming.
Must actually do some form of artThis can be anything art related... Enhancements, Drawings, Banners, Pixels, etc.

Well then you have come to the right place! This guide will introduce you the basics of Art Trades. Just remember that Art Trades are a two persons game! So buckle up and get ready to make a friend, an art partner, or (maybe) both!
You never know where a simple Art Trade can lead you.
Guidelines: Welcome to the art trade part of the forum.
Here, you and another artist may offer to trade artwork / services. This must be done between two consenting parties and the details should be worked out prior to completing the trade so that neither party feels like they have been cheated.
Unfortunately, it is up to the individual to keep up their half of the trade. However, if someone is continually not keeping up their end of the bargain please contact a moderator. Depending on the severity, it could result in a forum warning or revoked privileges in this part of the forum.
Please note, that general art theft rules apply in this forum as well.
If you are creating art for others using methods we have defined as art theft, you will receive a warning.

With this guide on hand, it will show you how to set up the perfect request. Many users on AH get very confused about how to set up a good request, especially when it comes to specificities and other things to include. Sometimes artists can find that frustrating.

✎ What Type Of Art Do You Want From Your Request? What You Can Buy/Sell/Request on AH:

All of which must be General Audience (GA) unless bought/sold/requested in the Mature Content (18+) Section.
Note: If you're opening a request, you should probably let the artists know exactly what you're looking to buy!
Imagine if you're opening a request, and you only want to buy chibis and everyone is making you display pictures! You might not have mentioned that you are only looking to buy chibis. Being specific is very important if you want to be happy with your art you receive, and to save the artist some trouble.
✎ Artwork Specificity - Avatar Edits / Display Pictures I cannot emphasize enough how many people forget to post screenshots in their requests! An artist can't edit your avatar if you don't provide screenshots of it.
If you do not know how to take a screenshot, you can:
a) Type in *hiresnobg for a hi-res screenshot without a background that saves to your desktop.
b) Type in *hiressnap for a hi-res screenshot with a background that saves to your desktop.
c) Use the in-client camera and go to your gallery. You can find your gallery by going here, typing in your username, and find the "My Gallery" link!
If you are still confused on taking screenshots, here is a Wiki guide!
You also need to make sure you upload your screenshot.
Sites to upload screenshots
Many of these you don't need accounts for, however if you ever want to edit/delete photos in your album then you will have to create an account to edit them.
✎You're Requesting Art Of An OC? What Do They Look Like? Lately, there has been a surge in people wanting to have requests for their OC. OC stands for Original Character, which has either been designed by the person who is requesting the art, or purchased by an artist.
If you don't have any drawings of your OC, try to find references online!
Real life reference photos are optimal.
For example, let's say I have an OC who's name is Bella. This is an example description I'm giving so artists can easily picture her in their heads:
- Name: Bella
- Age: 20
- Height: 5'8"
- Hair/eyes: Brown and wavy/clear blue
- Bella is a girl blah blah blah who likes blah blah. She is very blah blah blah and in her spare time she blah blah blah. A quirky feature of hers is blah blah blah.
See what I'm saying? A lot of people who are serious about their OCs usually provide hex code colors so the artists can make everything to a "t".
✎ Please Be Aware Artists usually like:
- Shadowless rooms like this are good examples of screenshot rooms that do not have shadows in them. Sometimes shadows can be annoying to work with, especially if the artist doesn't usually repaint their avatars.
- Screenshots with little-to-no accessories.
- A mix of screenshots with and without hair. You can buy a bald cap here.
- What your likes/dislikes are.
- The "main theme" of your request.
Lastly, make sure to include your price range on how much you are willing to spend on one piece of art.
