Why do I get art block so constantly. I barely ever open orders and as soon as I do it comes back. Its actually annoying / upsetting.& I don't even know how to make it go away, ever. I can sit and force myself to draw but I'm unhappy with everything I do manage to draw.
-
Do your orders inspire you? Are they something you enjoy drawing/ painting?
Have you sat down recently and drew/ painted just for yourself and the fun of it, where it didn't matter how good or bad it turned out being?
Did some personal art oder all your favorite things?
Took a decent break from drawing for atleast two weeks to recover creativity?
Sat down and just learned painting something new?
Those are a few things that help with consistent art blocks. Something is in your way if being creative- all you gotta do is figure out what it is. Something seems to bug you.
Might be creative exhaustion, or that some orders are too bland to get you inspired. Not everyones taste is right up your alley and that's nothing to be ashamed or worried about. It happens to every artist that paints commissions. We all have different tastes, and its great that we do. Doing personal work that inspires you and sparks your creativity inbetween commissions always helps. Doing commissions even if they're all amazing and your taste is draining and exhausting either way. Sooner or later you get exhausted- and its okay.
When in doubt a break could help!
You can do it. I'm sure you can.
I hope it gets better for you- and your art block goes away. Hopefully I was able to help you. I know constant art block is utterly frustrating. But it sometimes happens to the best of us!
Rooting for ya.

When you attempt a lil pixel icon for fun and then two days later you can't stop.
Messing with the idea of opening a shop with these cuties.. Thoughts?
-
They're surely cute for signatures or even for shops.

Hi!! Does anyone know any good free animation apps to use for a beginner? I know photoshop is like the main one but I don't have money for that right now lol.
Clip studio has animation but it's kinda hard ;-;
-
Thank you! But I'm sure you can! Don't put yourself down! Just takes a little practice, like everything in life.
Looking forward to your future animations already.

Yes yes Gimp does animations! It has different options to optimize it for .gif animations aswell.
All my animations are done in Gimp. Like these:
With the right options they turn out very smooth. One thing to remember regardless which application or program you use, .gif images are color restricted. So painting the entire rainbow with a lot of contrast and a few hundred color variations might turn out in a very pixely outcome.
Gimp has options to prevent that, but every software is limited to the format you export your image in. So keep that in mind!
If you can't figure gimp's animations out, shoot me a message and I'll be glad to help ya.

You could aswell use Gimp. Very sure there are plenty tutorials out there on how to work with animations in Gimp. You can play with the speed, the opacity, with everything. Gimp is free!
Doesn't take a lot of learning to do.
Hope this helps!

I’m annoying but I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT, I got a job!! Been unemployed for a month so I’m really happy.
(: I don’t start for like 2 more weeks so don’t worry about my commission speed (yet) haha.
-
That sounds like proper celebration! LOL. Of course, and enjoy your new game!

Latest Wips of a commission:
I've been studying a lot of art topics recently, and tried new things. Among those ambient light and some skin texturing. Things I feel like I've had trouble with for a while.
I'm happy to say that I did learn quite a lot and I understand so much more now, I hope I can use this knowledge in all my future projects and commissions.
Playing with light and shadow is so much fun now, and I'm glad my current commission allows me to use what I have learned!
Speaking of which, I've opened up slots in my custom shop, since I have more time and feel way more inspired these days!

Ooof you shower me in compliments! Thank you so much! Means the world to me
Yeah I also learned to change my attitude towards art as a (side)job, which makes working on commissions so much easier, to take my time and enjoy each order. So many things are out there to learn and I'm glad I took my chance to do it. Soo not stopping with that. LOL
Oh jeez if you ever print em out don't forget to share pictures with me of how they all look together! So exciting!
I can't wait to be in the position to order some art for myself from all of those talented artists around here. Haha.
It's always super great to have a little collection like that!

Hello peeps.
I was curious to see what you'd like to see more in my premade shop?
I have plenty of ideas but I'm never sure if it is what people want
You can reply here or pm, I don't mind.
-
Oooo I'd love to see you work on some steampunk too.
You could go all out with this. Apocalyptic steampunk, pretty steampunk, some warrior or whatever comes to mind! I know your creativity will give you some great ideas.

Awww babes! Your art is so awesome! Doing big pieses is always quite tough, I'm working on several right now. I feel you! Haha.
Sometimes we don't feel like doing big art like that, and we don't get inspired to do them. But just know yours always end up looking amazing.
I wanna get my hands on your art for quite a while now, but sadly I can't yet haha. Still admiring from afar, as are my friends!
Don't you ever get discouraged!

Heya guys! Got a question for ya'll.
Anyone interested in a Storytelling group? Checked the groups and I haven't seen anything related to writing in general.
For anyone who likes sharing their stories, big or small ones. Talking about OC's and giving eachother feedback and ideas for backstories of those.
I know way too many people with wonderful stories about their OC's or stories, almost novels where their OC's actually originate from.
Would be fun to have an outlet about that stuff on here, or even on discord.
Would be having a discord server mainly focused on storytelling and original art aswell.
We could even host little Roleplaying channels, chats, threads, whatever.
I'm open to hear your opinion on it, so feel free to post what you think, if you like that idea, or if you'd like to be part of this!
Or even if you think that's a bad idea
Maybe just a discord server, or a group too, or no?
Let me know!

Being sick absolutely sucks.
I'm ready to be healthy and productive again. Where'd my health go? If you find it send it back to me pls. Thanks. Hah.
Though, I've been working on some personal art while I'm barely able to focus. New years resolutuions, yay. Working on more personal art and develope as an artist. Here I come.
Working on a new, hopefully better quality and not rushed DP for myself. Yay.
Gotta love my red haired elf guy.
Can't wait to get him done! Let's put him in some snow for January!

I started correcting the forehead and coloring now and.. she.. looks like a.. man? I mean her face kinda does? How can I change that? Help!
-
Haha yeah thats approximately how far apart eyes should be- but bringing them closer together would probably result in a more mature look not particularily more feminine.
I agree with what has been said above.
The further apart the eyes the younger a character looks. The closer together the more mature they look. Kids usually have their eyes spaced rather far apart.
On your image they are indeed pretty far from eachother. If you go for more realism- you can pull them together a bit. If you want a more feminine look for your art be sure to follow the advice given above. Women tend to be "softer" looking. (:
