  7. NEW FORUM ORGANIZATION Hello Haveners! I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend! Recently, we announced the unfortunate temporary removal of the mature content system. In our announcement, we mentioned our desire to reorganize the forum sections of our site, primarily our "Marketplaces" section. I am happy to announce that this is now complete and want to provide our members with a few important details regarding the changes. Marketplace is now divided into two groups: Digital Artwork and Handcrafted Goods We felt it was best to combine a few subforums under the Digital Artwork forum. Digital Artwork has 3 subforums: Custom Artwork, Premade Artwork, and Mature Content Custom Artwork includes the following topics: Commissions, YCH, Digital Assets, Requests, and Auctions Premade Artwork includes the following topics: Premades, Adoptables, PYOC, Digital Assets, and Auctions Mature Content includes all of the above Handcrafted Goods has 2 subforums: Artisan Crafts and Traditional Artwork Artisan Crafts includes resin or clay art, jewelry, stickers, home decor, etc. Traditional Artwork includes paintings, colorings, or other forms of traditional art We've also added a new block at the top of each forum to allow users to easily navigate between topics. For now, we've only included topics for digital artwork as they are our most popular. We may add or remove topics in the future based on activity. Each tab is based on your topic's tags. We ask that from now on, users tag and set a prefix tag to their topic to allow for better organization and to help users search for shops based on what they are looking for. You can include as many tags as you want, but your prefix tag should be one of the following: Commissions Premades Adoptables YCH PYOC Digital Assets Requests Auctions Topics posted in Mature Content will be mixed in with other topics; however, they will only be visible to those with the correct permissions (ie. everyone in the mature group). This is how we will filter and restrict mature content from being visible to those who are underage or who would like to refrain from viewing mature content. Please continue to include the mature tag in your topic. It does not need to be the prefix tag, but should be included for those in public areas and do not want to accidentally click on a mature topic while browsing shops. What is a prefix tag? A prefix tag is the tag you see right before a shop's title. To set a prefix tag, tag your topic accordingly, then click on "Item prefix", and select the correct tag. Additional Mature Content Notes: IMPORTANT: Gallery items will need to be marked as mature content. There is a new built in system that allows for gallery images to be properly marked and filtered. This however does not apply to the forums nor does it apply to cross-posts (linking the gallery image in a post to a forum). Once you give consent to view the image, it will not be re-filtered the next time you log in. It will remain unhidden until you clear your browser's cache. To mark a gallery image as mature content, you'll need to toggle on "Not safe for work?" as shown below: Additionally, please continue to refrain from adding mature content as a topic icon. Topic icons are visible throughout the site and cannot be filtered. Should a topic have a mature content icon, it will be automatically removed by the Staff Team without warning. You are free to edit the image and reupload or upload a different icon. Other Important Notes: Coding & Design and 3D Files & Assets have all be combined under Digital Assets. This will allow artists and creators to have better visibility on our site. Digital assets will include custom IMVU creator files, custom or premade IMVU profile pages, custom or premade social media banners, headers, streaming assets, etc., and all other assets that can be used to customize appearances. Premade files will continue to be sold in Art Haven's Marketplace for the time being. We will continue to have a Premade Market in the premades section; however, for those who offer commissions but do not wish to manage a topic at this time, there will be an advertisement space in the Custom Artwork forum. We will continue to enforce off-site restrictions within this advertisements topic as it offers better protection and prevents scams/fraud. As a reminder, we do not allow off-site advertisement within our forums as those who are selling should complete all transactions on-site to protect them and their customers from scams/fraud or unsafe/harmful links. If you run into a situation where either the buyer has not paid for services or the seller has not provided the goods or services offered, the Art Haven Staff team can work with you to properly resolve the situation in a safe environment. Auctions are currently being refreshed to allow users to host their own auctions whenever they'd like. Although auctions can occur at anytime, a system will still be in place to protect users and prevent abuse of the subforum. At this time, this section will be closed while we make our adjustments. A separate announcement will be provided once this section is up and running as to not overwhelm or make this announcement longer than necessary. For those of you who are curious, we will still have users complete an "application" in order to host an auction. Unlike our previous application, the new version will instead be more of a questionnaire so that the Moderation Team can help you monitor your auction for bids (optional), monitor for payment completion/delivery of artwork or services, and lock the topic once the auction has ended to prevent further comments or bids. What should I do? For now, the staff and I will be working on moving topics to their correct forums and subforums. To aid us, we would appreciate it if you could tag your topic appropriately. For those of you who wish to continue having a combined topic (one with customs and premades), select which category you could like your topic to be listed in for now as you can only have one prefix tag. We would appreciate it, if in the future, you separate the two topics for better organization, but this isn't a requirement right now and may not be in the future. Future Changes: Auction refresh - See below. New icons for the forum sections and forums - See below. New Homepage - See below. Discord server refresh - See below. Reorganization of the Gallery - This will likely take more time due to the sheer number of images currently in our gallery.
  8. Last call for comments! If there's no others, I will be working on the changes over the weekend.
  9. That's a great question! It shouldn't appear so long as the artist hasn't posted any mature content to their actual profile. The separate section would be locked based on age, so anything posted within it will not be visible to anyone under the age of 18/does not belong to the mature group. If users want to completely opt-out of seeing mature content but are of age, we can simply remove the mature group from their user profile. All they would need to do is ask! I can see about adding some sort of setting that you could select in order to opt out? It might need to be custom, but that would be much easier and much cheaper than what the mature content system cost us.
  10. @ leileita I figured I'd add what our idea is for the reorganization of the forums + what mature content section would include. Would love you opinion of it!
  11. Thank you so much! Hmm, it seems then to function in the gallery so long as you don't click the button. This helps narrow the issue down a bit, seems to an issue with the button's coding or link it needs to reference for the post/image to reveal it.
  12. Oh, this is a new bug to me. Can you explain/provide images of what you mean? I'll look to see if it's specifically the mature system or the gallery itself. And I agree, we loved the mature content system up until the past year or so? Our software devs essentially started pushing updates left and right with new features that made some things obsolete - which is annoying in its own right, but at least some of them are things that should've been available in the first place. It's just unfortunate that the application's dev has been unresponsive.
  13. FAQ Proposed topic separation/organization: Section - Marketplace Digital Artwork Commissions Custom Artwork YCH/PYOC Digital Assets (includes IMVU creator/shop assets and items for servers, streaming, etc.) Requests + trades Auctions Premade Artwork Premade Artwork (other than adoptables) Digital Assets (includes IMVU creator/shop assets and items for servers, streaming, etc.) Adoptables Auctions Possible section for other art related items such as Closed Species + Resells Mature Content Has same as the above Physical Goods Handcrafted Items (if users still want to buy/sell physical goods - we don't take any percentages from sales) Will also add a poll once we've got some suggestions so the community can vote!
  14. MATURE CONTENT DISCUSSION Hello Haveners! It's been a while and I would like to apologize for the lack of updates! We were busy behind the scenes planning a few things, updating an app here and there, and training new staff members. However, as I'm sure all of you are already aware, the mature content system is currently down and has been malfunctioning. I have tried reaching out to the developer of our custom application, but they have been radio silent. This has been extremely frustrating for us and we know how frustrating and annoying it is for our community. Unfortunately, we have no control over the application aside from applying updates and enabling the feature. All coding, design, and editing of the application can only be done by its developer. For this reason and since it is not the first time we have been unable to reach the developer, I believe that it is time to look at other options. Many people donated to make our mature content system come to life and I would like to sincerely apologize to our community for its unreliability. We will not be looking into buying another custom application at this time and should we ever receive an update from the developer, we will certainly look into re-enabling the mature content system. The last thing we want to do is outright ban all mature content until we are able to reach the developer - we believe that all art forms should be allowed and that just because something is NSFW, it doesn't mean that it has no purpose or beauty to it. Our mature content guidelines are not in place to hinder you, they are in place because we must abide by the rules and regulations that our software, search engines, and other internet authorities have enacted - just like any other public website. In order to allow mature content to be uploaded to the site, we must have some sort of filtering or restrictions in place for those who are underage, those viewing the site in public, and those who would like to opt-out of viewing mature content. For this reason, I felt it was best to ask our community what they would like as a temporary solution. We would love to know what methods you think work best and what would be easiest for you. We'd also love ideas or suggestions for things we could look into adding to our software. This could be ideas for additional filters, changing the way artists and buyers can sell and buy artwork, or for a new system (this would be our last resort should the developer never return). Here is a solution we could easily apply over the course of a couple of days as an example: Separate mature from general audience rated posts and restrict the new forum by age - for those of you who are new to the site, this used to be the way mature content was posted. We had a different section purely dedicated to mature content with topics, events, and auctions. If we were to apply this option, any topic tagged as mature will be moved to the new section for you. Additionally, we would then apply our new forum organization and include all under the same section. (Yes, we will be separating commissions and premades again). Please keep in mind that while we appreciate feedback, we are only specifically looking for solutions regarding mature content posts. There are certain things we simply cannot do at this time as it is either unsupported by our software developers or is currently impossible at this point in time. We are also unable to set up certain forms of age verification (such as collecting ID's to verify birthdates) since this would require additional security, software, resources, and regulations. Our software developer is applying changes in rapid succession (hence all the delays) however, but we can always make a suggestion to them on new features for future software updates. Additionally, please be respectful. We have no control over the state of the mature content system nor specific regulations certain internet authorities have enacted.
  15. No worries, you can request that here too! Our moderators are just unable to do it without assistance from the Leadership Team! I went ahead and deleted it for you. Just so you are aware, this is a permanent deletion, we won't be able to recover any deleted communities since they aren't quite the same as topics and posts.
  16. Topic moved to the correct section. Please keep in mind that should you continue a transaction off-site, Art Haven will not be able to provide you with assistance should you encounter any issues with your purchase. Additionally, due to the use of credits, IMVU may not allow or approve any refund and support may be limited.
  17. “Practicing your skills” only refers to forms that can be considered photo studies or another form of educational practice. For example, users may use AI generated artwork to practice anatomy, shading, coloring techniques, or other drawing techniques for hair, eyes, skin textures, etc. This is similar to using artwork, stock photos, or other images to learn artistic techniques. If a user wants to upload their photo study, it must be labeled properly as such, labeled as AI, credited to the original artist (in cases of AI, they would state the AI generator they used), and not use the image in any form of self promotion or examples of their work as it does not provide interested buyers with an accurate portrayal of the final result (aka false advertising). “Practicing your skills” does not refer to using AI generated artwork to heavily reference, draw the character in your own style, and then sell it for profit and/or display it as a representation of your artwork. That is still considered a form of theft. Users should also refrain from using AI to create their own characters or “OC’s” as the generated design may contain copyrighted material or was created using a dataset with copyrighted material. The only AI content allowed to be posted on Art Haven is a photo study or other form of educational practice. As stated above, it must be done under the restrictions we’ve set. They are the same restrictions for other photo studies completed using non-AI images. I hope this answers your questions.
  18. Update: We are currently reviewing an AI image detector. An announcement will be made once our testing has been completed and if the detector has been deemed accurate. Additionally, we have reviewed another AI image detector and have deemed it to be inaccurate and unreliable: https://huggingface.co/spaces/umm-maybe/AI-image-detector Our announcement will detail our reasoning for this, but please note that the program's own creator has also documented the inaccuracies and has stated that it is unreliable due to the limited amount of details released by AI generators on their algorithms and datasets.

    Refund

Unfortunately due to the amount of time since the transaction took place, it would be something the artist would have to agree to. The length of time to file a claim or chargeback is generally around 90-180 days depending on the service you use. Once you’re outside the timeframe, the ability to properly submit a claim or dispute is no longer accessible and your right to a refund or any buyer protections are potentially forfeited (again depending on the payment method and service). In order to obtain a refund, you would need to reach out to the artist and come to an agreement. That being said, if you purchased a commission or premade from an artist on Art Haven, please contact support so we can provide you with assistance in resolving the situation. In the future, do not wait longer than 90-180 days to ensure you’re within the given timeline for claims, chargebacks, and disputes.
  20. If you're unable to find the specific artists, you would not be able to resell the artwork obtained from them nor include their price with your character's resell. Without the proper permissions from the artist, you do not have the proper rights to resell the artwork even though it is of a character you created yourself. You may need to hold on to those specific pieces. As far as our rules go, we do not allow resells unless the artist provides permission and the character has been classified as an adoptable. While the character was created by you and you technically own the copyright to the design, it comes with artwork you purchased from other artists, which complicates things. If you're able to obtain the proper rights and permissions to resell, we would consider allowing you to advertise a character resell since it's a character you designed. You would need to provide proof that you've received permission and not include any artwork created by artists who are unable to be tracked down in the resell or the price.
  21. This is a great question since there are many users who are outside of the US or who don't have access to certain payment systems like PayPal. We don't recommend the use of Western Union since many people are aware of its risks and it is not a popular payment method for art related purchases. Depending on your country, you can also utilize other payment forms such as Ko-Fi, buymeacoffee, Stripe, and even Boosty. Boosty is similar to Ko-Fi, bumeyacoffee, and Patreon. Payments via Boosty can also be submitted via PayPal which may bring some comfort to your customers since most are used to and comfortable with PayPal. Stripe is very similar to PayPal and has it's own fraud protections as well. You can easily connect it to your bank account. Please be aware that some users may still feel uncomfortable sending via other payment systems as many others outside of PayPal are often associated with fraud and scams. Additionally, PayPal offers certain protections that other sites do not, which brings much comfort to people when submitting payment online. If you're going to use another person's PayPal account to help you, make sure you're aware of their TOS (PayPal's) and any associated risks.
